Online Booking from the Client’s Perspective

Online booking lets clients book online through your website or any other platform where your booking link is shared, such as Instagram or Facebook.

  • Online booking is completely login-free. There is no option for clients to create an account or log in, which ensures a quick and easy booking experience.

  • Existing clients have the option to verify their phone number when booking online to pre-fill their information and use their credit card on file.

The following examples show a client booking an appointment online.

In the first example below, the client is a new client. Because they do not have a phone number on file, they are not given the option to verify their phone number and pre-fill their information.

In the second example below, the client is an existing client. Because they do have a phone number on file, they are given the option to verify their phone number and pre-fill their information.

  • Existing clients can always choose not to verify their phone number (by selecting Dismiss) and still complete their booking.

  • When existing clients do choose to verify their phone number, their contact information will be pre-filled, and they’ll be able to use their credit card on file if needed. If they don’t have a card on file, they can enter one, and it will be saved so they can use it for future online bookings.

Once a client verifies their phone number, they'll remain verified in their web browser for up to 30 days.

Note

If an existing client’s phone number matches multiple client profiles, such as family members who share contact information, the client will be able to select which client they are booking for after they verify the phone number.

In the third example below, the client did not verify their phone number while booking. Because they entered a credit card to complete the booking, once the booking is complete, they can select Save credit card to verify their number and save their card for future online bookings. If they verify their number, they'll remain verified in their web browser for up to 30 days.

When a client books an appointment through online booking, the client details they enter will be used to determine whether they are a new or existing client.

Generally, clients will be considered existing clients if they enter the same email address and phone number that are in their client profile.

  • Address

If the client only entered a different first name, it may be because they booked using the same email address and phone number as a family member who is an existing client. In these cases, the appointment will be booked under the family member's existing profile. If needed, you can edit the appointment to change the assigned client, which can help keep each client's history separate and accurate.

Family members may also be booked under another family member's existing profile if the other family member's profile only had an email address or phone number (not both). In these cases, the other family member's profile was assigned because the same email address or phone number was entered in online booking. If needed, you can edit the appointment to change the assigned client, which can help keep each client's history separate and accurate.
