FAQ: Group Services

A group booking and a group appointment refer to the same thing: A group of multiple appointments.

A group service is a type of service provided to multiple clients at the same time. When a group service is booked, it will create a group appointment on the calendar.

Group appointments can be booked for group services, or different services for each client.

You can enable the Requires two staff members setting for a service if that service requires two staff members, such as a Mani/Pedi combination service.

If the Requires two staff members setting is enabled for a service:

• That service cannot be set up as a group service. You will need to disable the Requires two staff members setting and use the This is a group service setting instead.

• That service will not be visible to clients when they book group appointments online.

We recommend using the This is a group service setting for your couples services instead of the Requires two staff members setting. This way, each client will receive their own appointment confirmation, reminders, and forms.

If your group services aren't displaying in online booking, or if your group services are showing different availability in online booking than expected, try the following troubleshooting steps:

• Make sure the Maximum group size for online booking is not less than the group size for the group service.

• Make sure any required resources are available. For couples services, any required resources may need to be updated so that they can accommodate a capacity of at least two appointments.

• Make sure another group hasn't already booked that group service and service provider for that time. Once a group service is booked with a specific service provider, that group service and service provider can no longer be booked by other clients for that same time.

We recommend using a resource instead of a group service if you need to set up an event or class. This is because once a group service is booked with a specific service provider, that group service and service provider can no longer be booked by other clients for that same time.

However, with a resource, you can specify a capacity limit for the service, and the service can be booked up to that limit by multiple clients for the same time.

You can set a maximum group size of up to 15 clients for a group service.
