Adding a New Count to the Cash Drawer
Adding a new count to the cash drawer allows you to reset your previous cash drawer balance. The new count will be used as the new starting balance.
We recommend adding a new count every morning. You can also add a new count at the beginning of every shift. This will make it easier to determine when discrepancies occur, which is helpful when reconciling the cash drawer at the end of the day.

To add a new count to the cash drawer, open the Cash Drawer app and select New Count.

You can enter either the number of bills and coins, or enter the total amount in the Other field.
Expected: The amount that the physical cash drawer should have based on the previous cash drawer balance, cash payments, cash refunds, pay-ins, and pay-outs.
Actual: The new count.
Difference: The difference between Expected and Actual. If there is a difference, recount the money carefully to rule out any simple counting errors. If there is still a difference after completing a recount, the Cash Drawer Activity report can help you track cash drawer activity. Document any overages or shortages for your records.
Enter any optional notes if needed and select Complete Count to add the new count.

Once a new count is added to the cash drawer, it cannot be edited, but it can be deleted, which is helpful if there was an error in the count. Only the most recent count can be deleted.
To delete the most recent count from the cash drawer, you must be an Admin user. Open the Cash Drawer app and select the most recent count.
Select the three-dot menu and select Delete.
