Selling Gift Cards Online

Visitors to your website and online booking can purchase gift cards and gift card promotions for themselves or someone else. Gift cards will be sent to recipients via email and can be scheduled to be sent on a later date.

To enable online gift card sales, you must be an Admin user. Open the Gift Cards app and select Settings.

Enable the toggle to enable online gift card sales. Once enabled, you can also select the billing location for online gift card sales if you have multiple locations.

Once online gift card sales are enabled, clients will be able to buy gift cards through your online booking, and you can also:

• Sell gift cards through the shareable link

• Sell gift cards directly on your website

Once online gift card sales are enabled, clients can select Buy a gift card in your online booking to buy a gift card or gift card promotion for themselves or someone else.

If a client is buying a gift card or gift card promotion for someone else:

• They can enter an optional gift card message for the recipient. This message will be included in the email with the gift card when it is sent to the recipient.

• They can send the gift card now, or schedule it to be sent on a later date. This is helpful for birthdays or holidays where the gift card shouldn’t be sent until a specific date. Scheduled gift cards will be sent on the specified date at 8 AM in the time zone of your first location in Business Setup > Locations. Once the sale is complete, learn how you can update or cancel a scheduled gift card if needed.

• They will need to enter their billing address and credit card details to buy the gift card. Learn how you can send an internal automated message to inform you of any online gift card sales that may be fraudulent (i.e. their billing address and credit card details could not be verified).

When a gift card is sold online, a gift card owner will not be assigned automatically. To assign a gift card owner, you can select the gift card in the Gift Cards app and select the pencil icon.

Once online gift card sales are enabled, you can sell gift cards through an overlay on your website. To enable this, you must be an Admin user, and you must complete the following steps. If you have already added online booking to your website, you can skip to step 3 below.

1. Open the Gift Cards app and select Settings. Copy your script tag.

2. Paste your script tag in the HTML header section of your website.

3. Create a Buy a Gift Card button/link on your website.

4. Open the Gift Cards app and select Settings. Copy your gift card link (under your script tag) and use it as the URL for your Buy a Gift Card button/link.
