This article lists common Mangomint terms and phrases and how each is used.

Account balance: Also referred to as a client account balance. Clients can have an account balance that can be used as a payment method during checkout.
Account balance membership: A type of membership that allows clients to add money to their account balance every billing period.
Admin user: A staff member user type.
App: An app in Mangomint, such as the Settings app, Staff Members app, etc.
Appointment details: A client's appointment details that are visible when the appointment is selected on the calendar.
Appointment icon: The small icons that appear on the bottom right of each appointment on the calendar.
Appointment reminders: The text and email reminders that are sent to the client to remind them about their upcoming appointment.
Automated flow: Automated flows let you automate personalized emails and text messages, ensuring your clients receive the right message at the right time.
Automated messages: The automated text and email messages that are configured in the Settings app.

Backbar fee: A pre or post-commission deduction used to deduct the cost of backbar items used during the service.
Booking overlay: Also referred to as an online booking overlay. Allows your online booking to open in an overlay so clients can book appointments without leaving your website.
Buffer time: Additional time before or after the service for things like room prep or cleanup.
Business hours: The hours during which your business is open. Used to customize certain phone call and web chat settings.

Campaign: A one-time marketing email or text message sent to all clients or specific client groups.
Cancellation policy: Once you add your cancellation policy, it will be included in various automated messages and other locations such as online booking.
Card on file: A credit card added to a client's profile.
Client account balance: Also referred to as an account balance. Clients can have an account balance that can be used as a payment method during checkout.
Client details: A client's profile details that are visible when you select their name.
Client portal: Allows clients to manage their appointments, memberships, and packages online.
Client Self Check-In: Allows clients with existing appointments to check in to the waiting room themselves.
Client Self Checkout: A payment method that allows clients to receive a text message with a link to add a tip, complete the payment, and view their receipt.
Client timeline: Tracks client history such as appointments and completed sales.
Closed sale: A completed sale that appears in Sales reports.
Confirmed appointment: An appointment with a status of Confirmed.
Credits: Also referred to as marketing credits. Used to send campaigns and automated flows.
Custom fee: A charge added at checkout based on different criteria, such as which payment method the client is using.
Custom payment methods: Also referred to as custom payment buttons. Can be added to checkouts to help track non-integrated payment options.

Deposit: A payment collected from the client in order to book their appointment.
Direct booking links: Also referred to as direct online booking links. Available for individual staff members, services, and service categories.
Direct connection: A card reader connected directly to an iPhone or iPad.

Email campaign: A one-time marketing email sent to all clients or specific clients.
Express Booking™: Allows clients to receive a text message with a link where they can enter their details to finish booking their appointment.

Finishing time: Usually follows processing time. During processing time, the client is occupied, but the service provider can be booked for other services.
Flow: Also referred to as an automated flow. Lets you automate personalized emails and text messages, ensuring your clients receive the right message at the right time.
Front Desk Display: Allows clients to check out at the front desk using an iPad and a Bluetooth card reader.

Gift card promotion: A discounted gift card.
Group appointment: A group of multiple appointments.
Group service: A type of service provided to multiple clients at the same time, such as a couples massage.

Intelligent Waitlist: Also referred to as the waitlist. Allows clients to be added to your waitlist when their preferred provider or appointment time isn't available.
Inventory change: A type of product inventory change, such as Received Stock or Recount.

Kiosk mode: Kiosk Mode ensures the iPad for your Front Desk Display stays locked on the Mangomint app.

Local phone number: Your number in Mangomint that is used for text messages, automated text messages, and non-marketing flow text messages.
Locations: Business locations. Adding multiple locations allows you to share some or all of your services, staff members, etc.

Marketing credits: Also referred to as credits. Used to send campaigns and automated flows.
Marketing phone number: Your number in Mangomint that is used for text message campaigns and marketing flow text messages.
Mentions: Allow you to tag a specific staff member within a conversation if something needs their attention.
Monthly summaries: Include payment processing details, such as starting and ending balance for the month, monthly payouts, individual transactions, etc.

Normal user: A staff member user type.

Offer: Can include service, product, and sale-level discounts that can be applied during checkout.
Online booking overlay: Also referred to as a booking overlay. Allows your online booking to open in an overlay so clients can book appointments without leaving your website.
Open sale: A sale that will not appear in Sales reports or the Payroll report until the sale is closed. Created when the checkout is started, including when you go to the Payments screen, and when a payment is completed (e.g. pre-payments and deposits).

Package: Bundled services sold to clients, usually at a discounted rate.
Pay-in / Pay-out: Allow you to add and take out money from the cash drawer outside of sales.
Payment account: Used to accept and process payments.
Payment processing: Mangomint's integrated payment processing allows you to accept all major credit cards with no monthly charges or hidden fees, and it gives you access to various features.
Payout: The transfer of funds from your payment account to your bank account.
Payroll account: If you have multiple legal entities (e.g. EINs) and you would like to use Payroll Processing, you will need to create a different payroll account for each entity.
Permissions: Also referred to as staff member permissions. Permissions help manage access to different apps and functionality in Mangomint.
Porting: Also referred to as transferring your phone number. You can port your number from another carrier to Mangomint to use for calls and texts.
Pre-payment: A full pre-payment that is collected from the client in order to book their appointment. Can sometimes refer to a partial deposit.
Processing time: During processing time, the client is occupied, but the service provider can be booked for other services. Usually followed by finishing time.
Product usage: Allows you to track inventory for products used during services.

Quick replies: Allow you to save commonly used messages so you can easily send them to clients via text message or web chat.

Reports: Can be generated to give you various insights into sales, business intelligence, inventory, etc.
Resource: Rooms and other limited equipment can be set up as resources that are required to book an appointment.
Resource-only service: A type of service that only requires a resource and not a staff member.

Service-based membership: A type of membership that gives clients redeemable membership services every billing period.
Service customizations: Also referred to as service add-ons. Allow you to offer flexible customization options for your services.
Service provider: A staff member who provides services.
Split payment: A payment that was split between multiple payment methods.
Staff member: A staff member who may or may not provide services. Can be used interchangeably with service provider.
Staff member payment account: A type of payment account used to automatically direct payments to a staff member. Helpful for businesses that do not handle payments for independent contractors or booth renters.
Staff Member settings: A staff member's settings in the Staff Members app.

Text campaign: A one-time marketing text sent to all clients or specific clients.
Time block: Added to the calendar to override a staff member's regular work hours. Staff members cannot be booked via online booking during a time block.
Transferring your phone number: Also referred to as porting your phone number. You can transfer your number from another carrier to Mangomint to use for calls and texts.

Unassigned tip: A tip left on a sale that does not have an assigned staff member.
Unconfirmed appointment: An appointment with a status of Unconfirmed.

Verifying your business: Helps ensure your calls and texts successfully reach your clients without being blocked or marked as spam by phone carriers.
Virtual Waiting Room: Also referred to as the waiting room. Allows you to keep track of clients who are waiting for their appointment to begin.
Visible hours: The hours that are visible on the calendar (when the calendar starts and ends).

Waitlist: Also referred to as the intelligent waitlist. Allows clients to be added to your waitlist when their preferred provider or appointment time isn't available.
Web Chat: Allows you to engage with your website visitors in real time through a live web chat.
Work hours: The hours when service providers are available for appointments.

Zero-balance sale: Can occur if there is no balance due after a client redeems a membership or package.
