Collecting a Tip on a Zero-Balance Sale

If a sale has no balance due, you can still collect a tip during checkout via the Front Desk Display or Client Self Checkout. Zero-balance sales can occur when the sale is covered in full by a membership or package.

To collect a tip on a zero-balance sale via the Front Desk Display, begin the checkout as you normally would.

On the Payments screen, select Collect Tip Via Front Desk.

If the Receipt Preview setting is enabled, the client will see a receipt preview before continuing to the next step. This preview will include all line items and any offers, memberships, or packages that were applied.

The client will select either a tip percentage or enter a custom tip amount. To customize your tip percentage buttons, open the Settings app and go to Payments & Checkout > Advanced Settings > Tip Buttons. Tip percentages are calculated based on the value of the applied membership or package.

Once the tip payment is complete, the sale will be closed.

To collect a tip on a zero-balance sale via Client Self Checkout, begin the checkout as you normally would.

On the Payments screen, select Collect Tip Via Self Checkout.

Confirm the client’s phone number on file, or enter a new phone number. Select Send. The client will receive a text message with a link to complete the tip payment.

The client can select either a tip percentage or enter a custom tip amount. To customize your tip percentage buttons, open the Settings app and go to Payments & Checkout > Advanced Settings > Tip Buttons. Tip percentages are calculated based on the value of the applied membership or package.

Once the tip payment is complete, the sale will be closed.
